What a week..

Holly moly that was a hell of a week... I am now in San Diego! After my last blog entry I was sleeping in the Trucker rest area sitting at the table. It was only for two hrs and I went back outside with my sign hoping to get a ride. But the truckers here in the US don´t seem to like giving rides to other people :) I waited for maybe two more hrs until it finally stopped raining. Then I made my way to the "On Ramp" to Highway 40. I actually was preparing in my had the plan to make it to Fort Smith and catch a greyhound bus to Las Vegas, since hitching went really slow. I was there maybe 20 min. When a car stopped. Carolyn who was on her way home from her own "across the USA" adventure picked me up. She was going all the way to Arizona and my hope was rising again. While in the car I fell several time in some kind of delusional sleep where I just saw some strange colors and forms waving through my field of view. She drove me incredibly 1300 Km. She was very nice, and offed me different opportunities where I i could get dropped off. We reached some Gas station with a gift shop that looked kind of promising. I got off and got my self some french fries. While eating they said they close down the facility in 10 min. I went outside, and there was the next major rainstorm coming up juts above me. There was no was no place to go inside like the last days, and I prepared myself to sleep in the entrance since it has a little roof. From last night I knew that my little amateur tent would not withstand the massive rainstorms in this area. I was just standing there when a female truck driver came to the door. I told here that its closed and she got kind of upset, since the signs along the road said "24 Hrs". We started to chat, and since I knew by know that truck drivers don´t like to be asked directly I just say I am looking for a ride in a "CAR". She said she is sorry that she can´t take me along since its a Company Truck and she might loose her job. But she is still interested and I can explain the whole story to her. After 15 min. she is convinced that I am not a threat and she invites me in the truck and told me she would drive me 500 miles. We get in the truck at about 9pm and its just starting to rain. I am extremely tired and we have to wait until 12 in the night until she can start driving. She talks for one hr. and I am troubled to follow her. I havn´t laid down my body for almost 48 Hrs and have slept only 4 hrs in the same time. Never in my life was i so exhausted. At around 10 pm she offers me her bed in the back of the truck. Never in my life it felt so good to just lay down. It sounds strange but I am to tired to fall a sleep. When she starts driving at 12 she is fine with me staying in the bed. I am finally able to sleep. I wake up at 3 in the night and Join her in the front. She drops me at 5 in the morning at a big truck stop. I ask around but no luck. There is construction at the Highway, and traffic is slowed and forced to one lane. Seems like my best shot. After 20 min. there is a Jeep stopping at the on ramp behind me. That dude is going all the way to California. He drops me of at the perfect place to get to Vegas. Now I am in the dessert, it is extreme hot. But I am so lucky again. After only 15 min. a young man stops and he is very nice and even drops right in front of Hunters Apartment. I am there around 1 pm. That was a ride... the first few days I went so slow hitchhiking, and the day I started to loose faith and thought I might not make it, everything fell in to place so perfectly. I just love the way the universe is working. I made 2300 km with 4 rides in 30 hrs. right in front of the door I wanted to be. This is just so spectacular. Well now that I arrived in Las Vegas, I take a little nap while Hunter starts packing. I wake up at 1 in the night and we start to load the truck. We are ready around 4 and start driving. My day and night rhythm is completely messed up. We arrive at the apartment and its clean and spacious with a cosy carpet that feels like the clouds in heaven after the last days struggle.....
