Long Trip

I left Toronto with no Host in Sudbury. I still had some requests pending and some few declines. Basically my request got all pretty quick accepted but this time somehow not. Maybe Sudbury is not such a big town after all ;) So I left Toronto with heavy rain and thunder storm. So I got of in Sudbury, knowing I had a little over an hour to sort things out. I grabbed my Bag and started to walk, to find the next Internet location. But the Greyhound Bus station was somehow in an Industrial complex and the only thing nearby was “Tim Hortons” and “McDonald”. They surely don’t serve Internet along with their meals. At the time we arrived in Sudbury it was already coming close to 6 pm.

So I had two Choices:

1: Get of the Bus start walking, hope to find an Internet Café, and hope even more that you have a host. If not: be stuck in a small town, rain, fog cold and darkness and 12 hrs. to wait for the next Bus.

2: Get back on the Bus, pay the heart stopping 120 C$ but move to Thunder Bay.

Thunder Bay is way more better then Sudbury because both western Trans-Canada routes come together here! But in Thunder Bay I had no host as well, it was kind of risky.

But I decided that i better sleep that night in the Bus and have a fresh day in front of me, then trying to fix this day already at its end. So i got another 12 Hrs of bus ride in front of me.
But the guy next to me, he was riding 2 days and 16 Hrs ( pure driving) to see his girlfriend, that eased my pain :D

So I got of the Bus and it was kind of the same as in Sudbury. Cold, rainy and a lot of Fog. But I wasted already to much money. So measures had to be taken!

I walked about 40 min in the City until I finally found the Library where they had Internet for free. From there I send out some emergency request for Thunder Bay of which one got accepted right away. While I was in the City Hall, managing my future, the weather changed. When I came out it was sunny and very warm. Tomorrow it will be the same. Which is good for a 600 km Hitchhiking Journey :D

And if I don’t make it I already have a backup host in Dryden, half the way up to Winnipeg. Today I finished my day with Robert, my kind Host, and some very long conversations over some nice cold Guinness!
